Our Story

Eclectic Styles Hair Studio.

Eclectic Styles Hair Studio was founded in 2011 by Elizabeth Stillisano, a 19-year-old with
her entire savings, a clear vision and an unwavering belief that a hair salon could be
something more than a transaction.

She wanted to build a place where clients didn't just come to get their hair done. They came
because they belonged there. Where the team felt like family, not just employees. Where the
standard never bent, no matter how busy or how hard the week.

Fifteen years later, that vision is still the heartbeat of everything we do. The salon has grown
and evolved, and so has Liz, but the things that mattered on day one still matter most.
Genuine care. Honest advice. Results that are truly yours.

Today, Eclectic Styles is a family-owned business. Liz's husband Matt joined the team in
2016 and the two of them run the business together, each bringing their own strengths to
keep the salon running at the standard it has always held. What started as one person's
hope and dream has grown into a team of seven, a community of loyal clients, and a salon
that people recommend before they're even asked.

What We Believe

We believe your hair should celebrate everything that makes you beautifully unique. We
believe that every person who sits in our chair deserves honest advice, genuine care and
results that are truly their own.

We will always tell you what your hair actually needs, even when it's not what you were
hoping to hear. We will never rush your consultation. We will never install extensions on hair that can't handle them, or push you toward a service that isn't right for you. We would rather
have an honest conversation than have you leave with a problem we created.

We hold a standard that doesn't bend. That's not a marketing line. It's how we run our salon
every single day.

What We Specialise In

Colour and hair extensions are at the heart of what we do, and the two are deeply connected.

As expert colourists with over a decade of industry recognition, we can tackle anything from lived-in blondes and colour corrections to vivids, pastels and seamless
extension transformations.

Our colour expertise is what makes our extension work genuinely exceptional.

The blending is flawless because the colour work behind it is flawless.

Our Recognitions

We are proud members of Intercoiffure, an invitation-only global network of leading salons
recognised by their industry peers. Membership cannot be applied for. It is extended by
invitation only, and we are honoured to be part of it.

We are also an AHC Gold Salon Select studio, the Australian Hairdressing Council's highest
salon accreditation, independently recognising salons that meet the highest standards in
professional practice, ongoing education and client care.

Our team has collectively earned over 30 industry awards, including national and international recognition through the AHIA, IHS and Davines Talent Green House competitions.

The Experience

From the moment you walk through our door you'll be greeted warmly by one of our team.
We don't have a receptionist because every single person here considers it their role to
make you feel welcome.

Our salon is filled with natural light from a large street-facing window, original artwork by
local artist Pippa McManus, and the kind of comfortable chairs you actually want to sit in.
Our massage recliner chairs at the basin mean you can put your feet up and genuinely relax
while we look after you.

Help yourself to our complimentary drinks menu, which includes hot drinks, cold drinks, wine
and seasonal cocktails, along with Oreo wafers and popcorn. If you're in for a longer
appointment, you're very welcome to order food in from one of the neighbouring spots or
through Uber Eats.

We are a full-service salon and our black cockatoos agree. They visit the big tree outside our
window a couple of times a year, and yes, it is as lovely as it sounds.

New To Eclectic Styles?

We know choosing a new salon can feel daunting, especially if you've had a less than great
experience somewhere before. Here's what to expect when you come to us for the first time.

Your stylist will begin with a thorough consultation to understand your hair, your lifestyle and
exactly what you're hoping to achieve. We start with a hair health check, because getting the
foundation right is what makes the result last.

We recommend coming to your appointment with clean, dry hair unless we've advised
otherwise, and if you have inspiration photos, bring them. If you're not sure what you want,
that's completely fine too. We're very good at helping you figure it out.

Dress comfortably. For longer appointments especially, you'll thank yourself for avoiding
high-neck or turtle-neck tops, as these can make it tricky for us to get close to your hairline.
